A simple way of getting people to sign up for your list is to give them something for free. If a visitor to your website wants what you’re giving away, they have to give you a valid email address and once the form is filled out on your site, they must verify their email by clicking on a link in the automated confirmation email that your system sent them. Should they change their mind and not want to give you their email, then they can do nothing, in which case they would not receive the free product.

I shouldn’t have to tell you that sending unsolicited emails out to anyone is spamming and should never be done. If people aren’t on your list, don’t send them emails. Not only will this make you look untrustworthy, but it will also get your ip account banned and it could also get you into legal hot water. Effective email marketing will only produce results for you if you build a relationship with your email list and treat them with respect. Keep in mind that the people on this list will buy from you time and time again as long as you treat them right.
